WASHINGTON, DC – Travel Document Systems, Inc., a Washington, DC-based industry leader in the expedited visa and passport industry, today announced that there is a substantial delay in processing for most visas to Pakistan at this time.

With the exception of some tourist and visiting relative applications, the slowdown in document processing for this region appears to be static and is expected to continue indefinitely within the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC, as well as the Consulates in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston. Travelers may note that online forms provided by the Embassy of Pakistan for visa applications do not currently reflect the changes in timely visa processing.

Dean Orbell, Vice President of Travel Document Systems, Inc., a Washington, DC-based industry leader of expedited visa and passport services, recommends that individuals seeking to travel to the region follow the advice of the US State Department Travel Warning, and if travel to the region is crucial, to allow ample additional time for the processing of all travel documentation.

Additional information regarding travel in Pakistan is available on the State Department website at www.travel.state.gov .
