US Department of Transportation fungerende assisterende sekretær for luftfart og internationale anliggender, Jenny T. Rosenberg, annoncerede i dag medlemmerne af den nye arbejdsgruppe om forbedring af lufttrafikken til små samfund (arbejdsgruppen).
Arbejdsgruppen vil bestå af 25 interessenter involveret i lufttransport til små samfund. Gruppen vil rådgive Kongressen om aktuelle og nye prioriteter, spørgsmål og finansieringsbehov i forbindelse med levering af lufttjenester til små samfund.
Arbejdsgruppen blev oprettet i overensstemmelse med paragraf 2303 i FAA Extension, Safety and Security Act af 2016 (Reauthorization Bill), PL 114-190. Lovforslaget om genautorisation etablerede arbejdsgruppen og pålægger transportministeren at udsende en rapport til kongressen inden juli 2017. Det stiftende møde i arbejdsgruppen forventes at blive afholdt i næste måned.
